This morning Prep K took part in a program called ‘Responsible Pet Ownership’. The children learnt what to do if they are approached by an angry dog and also how to ask for permission before patting other people’s dogs. It was a fantastic program. Visit www.pets.dpi.vic.gov.au for more information.
Well done on being our first gold certificate winner Toanui! Keep up the great work on Mathletics.
On Wednesday, Prep K dressed up as their favourite community helper. We had police officers, fire fighters, doctors, teachers, a baker, a chef, a nurse and a farmer. Look at our dress-ups!
The preps were lucky enough to have another ‘Community Helper’ visit this morning. Today our visit was from one of our Preps mums, Jodie the hairdresser. We watched Jodie curl hair and asked her lots of questions about her job.
This morning the preps were lucky enough to have a visit by a nurse. The children learnt about lots of the ways that nurses help people.
What a fantastic start to the week we have had at school. Prep K have had a visit from firefighters this morning. The children learnt all about fire safety, stop drop and rolling and getting down low to go, go, go! Emma asked very politely if the firefighters would spray some water for us and they did!
Today we had a visit from Senior Constable Brad. We had a lesson in our classroom where we learnt about all the different jobs police officers do to keep us safe. We asked lots of questions and looked at photos. Brad drove his police car past with the lights flashing and then we went and looked in his car and met Lex the police dog. What a great morning!
We made it to the end of the smiley faces and with this beautiful weather and ‘i week’ we celebrated with icy-poles.
Prep K have been learning about the community and the people who help us. Police officers help us by keeping us safe. We made our classroom into a police station. We all needed hats and badges to be in the ‘Prep K Police Force’. We look fantastic!
